Snakes on a Bus

Those pesky snakes go in for all sorts of public transportation, don’t they?
It seems like it happens every few days now, but we’ve had more real snakes on real planes:
A man was stopped at Cairo’s airport just moments before he boarded a Saudi Arabia-bound plane with carry-on bags filled with live snakes, as well as a few baby crocodiles and chameleons.
ESPN’s Page 2’s Bill Simmons is, unsurprisingly, a big fan of Snakes on a Plane:
Note: Speaking [of] predictions, if “Snakes” doesn’t have one of the most magical runs in cable history, I’ll be shocked. So much to love, including Sam Jackson showing off a Barry Bonds-sized noggin, Juliana Marguiles with an “I never should have left ‘ER’ ” look on her face, Tim Riggins from “Friday Night Lights” joining the Mile High Club, Kenan Thompson successfully landing the plane because of his experience landing planes in video games and, yes, snakes eating people on a plane. I’ve watched this movie three times in 10 days, and I might go for No. 4 tonight.
PostSecret, which incidentally is a great webpage, includes a Snakes on a Plane secret today:

What’s your favorite movie set on a plane?  Lifetime Movie Networks wants to find out (the poll is on the lefhand side of the page near the bottom). Snakes on a Plane is currently at about 12 percent.
This appears to be the official Snakes on a Plane talking pen. Although, admittedly, it’s not really a field in which you’d have a lot of unofficial competitors.
Apparently Snakes on a Blog was mentioned on this podcast by the BBC. Anyone want to listen and give me a recap? (Podcasts aren’t really my thing.)
Authorities found over 2,400 smuggled snakes in crates at an airport in Malaysia on their way from Thailand to Hong Kong. How were they discovered, you wonder?
Workers handling cargo at the complex near the Bayan Lepas International Airport in Penang grew suspicious when they heard hissing and “slithering sounds.”
Ah, well that clears it up then.
Sadly I couldn’t attend the Snakes on a Plane panel at SXSW. I was invited, but I had other duties to attend to, but here’s an introduction to the panel by its moderator.
Here’s a write-up of the panel.
I should have gone.
Don’t leave, I’ve got something to give away next week. Something DVD-related. Posting have been slow, it’s finals time again, but don’t wander too far.
DVDActive has a few more tidbits for us today. They snagged images of a few of the DVD’s menus:
As well as big versions of images of the box artwork for widescreen and boringscreen:
And some old advertising materials that we’ve posted before:
Ok, one has to wonder: when’s my movie?
Me and the One Red Paperclip guy are in a deep, DEEP competition, only he doesn’t know who I am or care about me in any way. So I guess he wins. He got a house in Canada, all I got was a trip to a movie premiere.
Who wants to live in Canada, anyway?
