Snakes on a Clerks Video

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

A few weeks ago we heard that Clerks II had moved their opening weekend to avoid going up against Snakes on a Plane. Well, to comemorate that decision, someone put together a combination Clerks/Snakes on a Plane trailer:

Snakes on a High Definition Teaser Trailer

Sunday, June 11th, 2006

I have gotten my hands on a high definition copy of the teaster trailer that we formerly only had a bootleg copy of. It’s 1080p, which is too much for my wimpy computer, but those of you with stronger computers than mine should be able to handle it. We no longer only have a shaky-cam version of the teaser, but can now enjoy it in its full splendor:

It’s 11 megabytes.  For those of you, like me, with computers of questionable quality, it can also be viewed at YouTube.

Snakes on a Concerts and Music Videos

Friday, June 9th, 2006

I posted a song written by the Former Fat Boys a while ago. They recently were in the top 25 at the Tagworld contest and are in consideration for a spot in the soundtrack. Here’s a short video of them doing thier song in concert (including a cameo by George W. Bush).

Snakes on the Colbert Report

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Here’s a clip from the Colbert report a few nights ago where, in his “Threatdown,” the number one threat was conservationists, and he took the following sidetrack into the question of what would happen if Frogs were to get loose on a plane?  Yeah, you guessed it, Frogs on a Plane.  It’s got swearing, it’s got parody posters, it’s even got a little bit of Samuel L. Jackson:

Snakes on a Samuel L. Jackson at the MTV Movie Awards

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Samuel L. Jackson was a presenter at the MTV Movie Awards which aired tonight. A few days ago I posted pictures of him wearing a Snakes on a Plane shirt, well, it turns out he did more than just wear a shirt. Here’s a video of him gauranteeing that Snakes on a Plane will win the best picture award at next year’s ceremony.

The other Snakes on a Blog put up a transcript:

I’m here to tonight to present the award everybody’s been waiting for. Best Movie. Now this award holds a special place in my heart, because next year, I’ll be winning it, for Snakes on a Plane. Now I know, I know, that sounds cocky, but I don’t give a damn. I am guaranteeing that Snakes on a Plane will win Best Movie next year. It does not matter what else is coming out. The new James Bond? No snakes in that. Ocean’s 13? Where my snakes at? Shrek the third? Green… but not a snake. No movie shall triumph over Snakes on a Plane. Unless I happen to feel like making a movie called, “More Motherfuckin’ Snakes on More Motherfuckin’ Planes.”

Snakes on MTV Canada (Updated)

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Snakes on a Plane has reached MTV 2 Canda (I was saying MTV 2, I don’t know, why, it’s MTV Canda). They’re doing a running bit where one their guys has lined up for the movie. You know, it’s like lining up for Star Wars, only this movie might actually be good. Here are the first three clips in order:

Snakes on a DCLugi Music Video

Monday, June 5th, 2006

I’m thinking about changing this blog to a DCLugi fan page. He’s the guy who made the Early Auditions video and this great song. Anyway, he claims this is his last Snakes on a Plane effort, which is sad, but here you go:

Snakes on the Daily Show

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

I’ve had a longish night, but I wanted to quickly provide this clip (thanks Crazymonk) from the Daily Show from last night where Jon Stewart, briefly, mentions Snakes on a Plane while doing his George Bush impression.

PS. I’m doing an interview with CBS News tomorrow morning and I’m up far too late. I’m going to have big bags under my eyes and their producer is going to yell at me.

Snakes on a Sign Language Translation II

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Last week I posted an ASL translation of Snakes on a Plane and requested a video of someone doing it. Well, I didn’t get a video, but Will of stickdeath fame was kind enough to make two different versions in stick figure format. The first one is straight, the second uses a little bit Samuel L. Jackson styled edge:

Snakes on Samuel L. Jackson on Ellen

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

Samuel L. Jackson was on Ellen on Tuesday… there’s a lot of discussion about Snakes on a Plane, as well as new video footage from the film that we haven’t seen before (as well as some behind the scenes footage) and Ellen doing three fan songs of her own (New Wave, Disco, and Heavy Metal).

Here’s part 1 and part 2.

That big snake was 20 feet long and 450 pounds.

Also, keep the contest suggestions coming.

Snakes on Videos IV

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

Two videos for you today. The first is a music video of sorts based on this song I posted last week. The second is sort of a Mastercard “priceless” tv commercial parody utilizing the nootropic phone calls. Enjoy:

Snakes on a David Ellis Interview

Friday, April 28th, 2006

Liquid Generation has a video interview up with director David Ellis. It took me about a million years to get through their annoying loading process, but you get a lot of information when you finally get to the video. For example:

    • The snakes are extra angry because they bad guys have released “pheromones” in the air system.
    • The snakes are NOT a metaphor for muslim extremists.
    • They occasionally “lost” snakes while shooting and had to do counts after scenes to prevent this.
    • Soul Plane “had a bunch of black people and they had no snakes,” which was the problem with that film.
    • “First Class or Snake Class” would have been a good alternate title.

David Ellis then goes on to direct his own Fan Video version of the film using action figures, a paper airplane, and a bunch of snakes. It’s pretty amusing. It’s nice to see people involved with the film having a good time with it.

Here’s a few screenshots from the video:

David Ellis David Ellis

They’ve also posted an extended transcript of the interview which goes into much more detail than the video. I haven’t read it yet.

PS. I’m officially in law school finals mode now. I turned down a live TV interview request today and I may be slow in getting things online for the next few weeks. If you email me and I don’t write back, or don’t post something online quickly, this is why. I’ll do my best, but no promises. I’ll catch up once school is over, but you’ll need to cut me a little bit of slack for the month of May.

Snakes on Videos III

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

I’ve got three new videos for you today. No screenshots, becuase I’m running short on time, but here they are:

The first is a fan-made trailer, and it’s good. The second is a video showing what might have happened to get Snakes on a Plane greenlight… let me just say that it has to do, ever so slightly, with the Holocaust. The third video is similar to the one by Jack Hanniford… it was made by an 8 year old and a 5 year old… it doesn’t quite have the dramatic tension of Hanniford’s, but it’s not without its charm.

Snakes on a Ninja

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

I’ve never seen Ask a Ninja before, but I like it. The premise is pretty much what you’d think… somebody asks a Ninja a question and he answers it. Question number 18 dealt with midgets, but at the end we get a small bonus question about what a ninja would think about Snakes on a Plane. His answer is really good:
