A few weeks ago there were snakes on a Pensacola Highway. I now have one more picture of them, and I really like efforts of whoever did these, so I’m going to post it yet again. Enjoy:

I received this little marketing piece the other day as I got out of a cab in DC. It seems like it’s a little bit late to start pushing the film, but, well, I guess you never know when a passenger on his way to Dulles is going to be in the mood for a cab-receipt-originated film recommendation.

Snakes have shown up on the highways around Pensacola as drivers approach the airport. Here’s just one example photo:

Akismet, an excellent system that most Wordpress blogs use to control spam, has failed today. I don’t know why, but in the last 24 hours hundreds of spam postings have appeared on the site. It’s clogging my inbox and generally annoying. The problem appears to be internet-wide. To end this, I’ve temporarily added a new spam filtering question for people posting comments. It asks you to complete a simple math equation. Hopefully that won’t be too annoying. I’ll remove it as soon as Akismet is back up and working.

Try it out below. If anyone has any problems with the new filter, please let me know.

UPDATE: They claim to have fixed the problem, I’m turning off the math.

Another blog thinks they’ve come up with the first Snakes on a Blog hockery jersey:

What they don’t realize is that we already have an entire Snakes on a Hockey Team. I haven’t seen a picture of their uniforms, but I can only imagine they’re Snakes on a Plane related.

My mom saw one of these a few days in Connecticut. They’ve also been spotted in Boston and a number of other places around the country. Snakes on a Plane on (or behind) a Plane:

I like how much bigger the banner is than the tiny plane that’s dragging it. They should have hired Monty Coles to fly these banners around.

Also, as the movie draws ever nearer, the media attention is increasing along with my hit counts.  That’s going to lead to the website occasionally giving a temporary error message or not properly displaying all the images on the page.  Simply reloading should resolve these issues.  Slow loading times I can’t do much about.

Snakes on a Plane and Demolition Derbies have not been combined… until now:

It’s sad that it has be smashed, but the rules of the demolition derby are notoriously remorseless.

Today’s the first day of my Hollywood adventure. This post is scheduled to go live at the same time as my plane takes off. If you’re reading this, I’m on my way. Unless, of course, something delays my flight?

I’m going to have to start learning more about roman numerals soon. I should have stuck to regular numbering. Oh well, it’s clearly too late to turn back now.

A few months ago I posted two Snakes on a Sudoku puzzles (1 and 2). Well, apparently New Line thought they were neat too, as the author has put out an “official” Snakes on a Plane Sudoku book:
