Snakes on the Red Carpet
August 17th, 2006 at 6:45 pm

Hello everybody, this is going to be my last post before heading out for the premiere. I’m leaving the hotel in a little over an hour and should be picking up my tickets at about 5:30 (Pacific Time). We then have a little down time… the red carpet is at 8:00 (Pacific Time) and the premiere should follow shortly after that.

Thanks to Treo I’m going to be posting live updates from the Red Carpet and Mann’s Chinese Theater. I couldn’t figure out how to get images centered, but other than that the Treo posts should be identical to the rest of this blog (except with blurrier photos).

Sadly, I didn’t quite get to 1,000,000 visitors before leaving for the premiere. I’m currently holding at around 975,000. I’m going to give myself until midnight Pacific time, so maybe there will be a late night push and I’ll be able to cross the threshold. Here’s the constantly updated count:

And here’s a few tickets toget you in the mood:

Snakes on a Plane ticket Snakes on a Plane ticket

Wish me luck.

Forget about Snakes on a Plane! What we need to worry about is Sheiks on a Plane! See them at my web site — http://www.cafepress.com/bobmccarty.70636042.

Bob

The movie was awesome!! I live here in Guam, so in a way, we got to see it first! If you will see one movie this year, THIS IS THE MOVIE!!! I’m going to spread the news like the Gospel and see it again! Samuel Jackson was motherfucking awesome!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this grandma saw it in a theatre with about 50 kids
Never had so much fun in my LIFE.
Wheeeew..fasten your seat belts it’s gonna be a BUMPY ride!!!
Soooo glad it was R..PG would have been totally lame.
GREAT special effects………………………………………………

Comment by Medusa — August 18, 2006 @ 12:31 am

I’m BACK!! I SAW it!! There were M-F’in SNAKES!! On the M-F’in PLANE!!! And there was SAM!!! And he kicked M-F’in reptilian BUTT!!! OMG–now I have to try and go to sleep so I can go to work tomorrow!! AUGH!!

Seriously–I think my daughter and I were 2 of maybe half a dozen women in the theater–most of them were college age guys (and one really creepy older guy who sat by himself?????). The college guys were great–they were bustin’ on all the stuff before the movie, cheered at all the right moments during the movie, and jammed to the Cobra Starship video after the movie. When Sam delivered “THE LINE”–they stood and cheered like football fans!! A good time was had by all!

Armitage..did you see it in the sameplace I did? There was a creepy guy at my showing also!

Comment by Medusa — August 18, 2006 @ 1:02 am

wow just saw the movie its amazing one of the funniest/freakiest movies ive seen in a while!!!11!oneOMG

Comment by Eric Vega — August 18, 2006 @ 1:14 am

At my showing there was this guy who looked just like the fat dude from Lost. Weird. He had the same hair, body type, and it even looked like something the guy would wear. But he wasn’t creepy, ’cause he was with a whole bunch of other people (they actually took up an entire row. Seriously).

Wow Armitage, we both spell THE LINE in capitol letters. I guess great minds think alike?

Thanks to all the kids at the Multiplex in Centreville Virginia! Whoever was taking pictures with their cell phone do NOT post a photo of me from the rear reading my book about Condors as we waited in the lobby.
You guys were great to this old Grandma. The phrase
Snakes On A Plane will find it’s way into the hallowed pages of the Oxford English Dictionary as the new euphemism for SHIT HAPPENS

Comment by Medusa — August 18, 2006 @ 1:42 am

Just got back! There were SO MANY catch phrases that should come from this film!

“I got a snake on my ass!”

“Now let’s go get these people some air!”

ROFLMAO

Anyone else want that cool black on black ALOHA shirt SLJ wore in the opening scenes? I just e-mailed New Line with a request to add it to the stuff they are selling.
STILL decompressing.
Bummer about the Siamese cat..oh well…’Snakes On A Plane’
LOVED the boa and the horned rattler!

Medusa–I dunno–were you in NJ?? My creepy guy actually came up to me and was telling me how to use my “movie snack tray” so I didn’t have to have it on my lap!! I was afraid to leave my teen daughter alone in the theater after THAT! Thank God all those nice decent M-F’in college boys were there! I trust THEM more then THAT guy!!!

Snakes on a creepy movie guy! Fo’ shizzle, yo! ;-)

Comment by Armitage112 — August 18, 2006 @ 8:58 am

Nope..I was in Northern Virginia..I’m 60 and he was MAJORLY eyeing me in the lobby. Ugggh…
