Snakes on the Daily Show

Snakes on a Plane has been mentioned on the Daily Show before (1 and 2), but yesterday it was graced with the presence of Samuel L. Jackson:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen more swearing in a Daily Show interview. It’s pretty good.

NBC is coming in a few minutes to tape something for the Today Show. My mom must be very excited.

I screamed an awful lot when I saw him walk on the stage. It was the best interview EVER!

I know you might feel it’s a bit pretentious but is there one post that tells all of your upcoming apperances on the tele? I’d like to see them all.

Line from Cobra Starship song:

“THAT’S IT! I’VE HAD IT WITH THESE…”

Line from Daily Show video clip:

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I’VE HAD IT WITH THESE…”

Which is it? Was the song version an early audio clip? In the video, you don’t actually see Sam speak the line in question, so it’s possible that it was originally filmed with “That’s IT!” but was re-recorded and replaced with the “Enough is enough!” line.

Oh yes! I was watching it too. It was so exciting seeing the interview. I had the biggest smile on my face throughout. And yes of course, SLJ was outrageous! I LOVE how he LOVES this film. HE knows it’s power.

Haha… this was fantastic. giantmag.com covered it too, and have an album review of SoaP soundtrack… They pan it pretty hard, but praise cobra starship..

Good call, I wonder about the Starship lyrics too, and if that was an early thing, or maybe S.J just said it for the song?

Double Promotion a show I like, a movie I might like

I think I just saw another trailer not seen elsewhere. Pretty much an unspliced version of the remixed one shown somewhere else featuring: Sam’s Line at the start, a snake in the toilet (I think we all know what happens next), the side of plane cracking open & the cobra (twice, once spitting)

they have the clip up at ign

I am Jakob’s (The 8 year old snake fan) dad. I need a little help. The day before the show I won tickets on the myspace snake site for 2. New Line Cinema could not fly us out to Hollywood from Florida. Is there anyone that can help us. The tickets are waiting on us we just got to get there. I’m sorry to put this here but I need snakesonaplaniacs to see it. I have called radio and tv stations and myspaced people, we have called New Line several times. We have failed in every effort. I am trying to get an 8 year old boy to see Hollywood and I have 100 to my name. Please help. I even thought after trying, I can give them to someone so I contacted Reba Mac. New Line says they are not transferable. Please help Freq. flier miles, freebee hotels anything.

Has anyone come across a non-bleeped version of that clip?

Comment by Tom B. — August 16, 2006 @ 6:56 pm

If it’s true that after we die we come back to earth, I want to be Samuel L. Jackson! Can’t wait to see the film, even though I HATE SNAKES!

BEST INTERVIEW EVER!!!! Too bad I missed it when it was on. Instead I watched the *cough*terrible*cough* David Letterman interview. Very lame, they asked Sam Jack about…golf? WTF?!

Oh, and Brian, I sent you some pics I took on my plane ride to San Diego to see Comic-Con. (Just so you know.)

Is anyone else having problems with theaters not allowing you to do the firstshowing.net premiere plan? Here in Kansas City we have been denied the right to do ANYTHING at the premiere other than sit there like manequins. All we, and firstshowing.net, are asking for is to play some SOAP games and trivia challenges whilst waiting for the lights to dim…what’s the problem with that? If anyone in KC wants to call LEGENDS theater and complain about the matter, please call Dana Elkins, the “events coordinator”, 913-428-2990

Just found out most theaters in my area (Central NJ) will be having 10pm and midnight showings tomorrow, and my daughter is BEGGING me to take her to a 10pm show! The only “official party” I’ve heard of in my “area” is in the next county, an hour away, and we both have to work Friday, so if we DO go, we have to settle for the local theater. We’ll probably be the only snakesonaplaniacs there in full regalia—in official shirts, pins, and of course, SNAKES!!!

I’ll be in Trumbul, CT at ten o’clock for the premeire tomarrow. Thing is, should I wear my Comic-con exclusive SoaP shirt, or my Damnation shirt? I want to wear my hoody, but it will probably be way too hot for that (it is August after all). Damn. I have to find my “wings”…

Comment by irrelivent — August 17, 2006 @ 12:08 am

you gotta go with the best..damnation!

[...] We had always heard that Ronny Yu, who was originally slated to direct Snakes on a Plane, was replaced by David Ellis due to “creative differences.” Samuel L. Jackson let slip during an interview with Jon Stewart that Ronny Yu had, in fact, been fired. ASAP reporter Ryan Pearson (who was the first big-time reporter to interview me) got in touch with Ronny Yu and got his version of the story: If you put Samuel L. Jackson in it, and you have snakes on a plane, who is the star of the show? Is it Samuel L. Jackson, or is it the snake? If you want Samuel L. Jackson to be the hero, then the snakes weren’t that important, because you knew at the end Samuel L. Jackson would save the day. [...]

DANG! Now ALL the links are bad–all the videos of this awesome lolfest are gone due to Comedy Central getting a bug up their bums! Miserables! :p
