Snakes on a Samuel L. Jackson Phone Call
August 3rd, 2006 at 10:05 pm

Have you ever wanted Samuel L. Jackson to call your parents, insult them, and then tell them to see Snakes on a Plane? Man, now’s your chance. New Line has posted this little tool that allows you to enter some information about someone who you’d like Samuel L. Jackson to call and, then, he’ll call them. It’s actually pretty straightforward.

He insulted my glasses and my bookish, schoolbound ways. It’s fairly customizable.

Ok, this is my last update for tonight. I’ve got such a backlog, I might start posting more things per day to get them out of my folders. I’ve always tried to limit it to two or three, but that might go out the window as we draw closer to the film.

Also, oddly, I had a big surge of hits today from Taipei.  Can anyone explain that?

This would be the best thing if it actually worked. It says it needs to be sent between 8am and 10pm which it currently is in my timezone. Anyone got this to work?

actually, I have just been msn’in the link to freinds and it works nearly as well. Have to say this is a stroke of genius by newline to get some free mass advertising.

SEND TO EVERYONE…!!!

Yes, it works! Man, there’s nothing like picking up the phone to hear Sam Jackson telling you to grab your ho and go see SOaP.

My daughter and I emailed messages to each other. She glared at me when SLJ told her to stop wasting time on those mind-numbing video games and stop playing with her dorky glasses. Email is cool, as it shows pics of the film while he’s talking, then gives you the chance to watch it over and over and make a new one to send. It’s VERY good. :-D

I came home from work last night and my husband ran out of the house with the phone, demanding me to listen. It was Samuel L. Jackson and it was like the coolest phone call I’ve ever received. He thought I was prank calling him at first.

The customizable sections of the speaking part flow pretty smoothly with the rest of the speech. Impressive.

The LA times had an article today about how the SOAP phone system got overloaded. Looks like it’s been SOaBed.

I tried it on my home phone and it either didn’t work or didn’t get through. But it worked on my cell phone. It won’t let me call twice on the same number, so it is a one-time only thing or can I try again tomorrow?

wow amazing that in can spoof any number and put it on the person’s caller id… potential for abuse on this seems limitless.

I LOVE IT!!! I too have had Samuel call everyone I know. Some names are not accepted though.

As a limey it won’t let me use the telephone option, so I’ve had to settle for emailing loads of friends (wouldn’t accept the name Kate though…which seems a lilttle odd).

Pingback by Murky.org » Get a Call from Samuel L. Jackson — August 6, 2006 @ 7:11 pm

[...] I was chatting with someone today in a position to know about the Samuel L. Jackson phone call system that was posted last week.  I asked him how many calls have been made thus far: Call From Sam will likely hit about 1mil calls by the end of the day (also the end of our first week).  Today looks like it will be our biggest day yet, so it’s still picking up speed, which is pretty mind blowing.  Our peek was 360/minute or 6 per second. Maybe someone can help me. I wanted to do the Samuel L Jackson thing and have him call my friends, but when I get to the end, the only option it gives me is to send by email. What do I have to do to get it by phone? Help Please!
