Snakes on a Fan Contest
July 25th, 2006 at 11:05 pm

The official Snakes on a Plane website has been running an official contest to determine the biggest fan. Now, the contest has been going on for a while, so there’s already a number of front-runners, but for those of you interested in winning, post your name and links to your username in the comments below and explain why we should vote for you. The winner gets a free screening of the film, but runners-up also get free posters, shirts, hats and soundtracks.

I decided to stay out of this one, I hopefully won’t need a contest-provided screening.

I got a tattoo of the logo on my arm this weekend. You can see a pic

Thanks

Well, you’d so totally win, anyway. I mean, I think being responsible for like 95% of the movie’s publicity and being invited to Comic Con to interview famous people is a fairly decent indication of one’s rank. ;-)

You’re the man now dog!

If you were still interested, maybe if you put a shoe on your head and you could catch up.

Please vote for me. Why? I’ll tell you why.

I am the co-winner of the first Snakes on a Blog contest, for coining the term “snakesonaplaniac.”

I own an official Snakes on a Plane teaser poster, which I hang proudly on my wall at my place of employment, Midway Games Austin.

I also own a “Snakesonaplaniac” t-shirt, and a “snakes/planes ying/yang” button, both of which I regularly wear.

Here’s photographic proof of me with this Snakes on a Plane loot.

An interview with me (and the photo above) will appear in the upcoming book Snakes on a Plane: The Guide to the Internet Sssssensation by David Waldon. I expounded with some length on the significance of the Snakes on a Plane phenomenon.

I contributed a question to a David Ellis interview (on Snakes on a Blog), which compared “Snakes on a Plane” to “The Passion of the Christ.” I documented this here. (You can see my original posting of the question here.)

I have posted about Snakes on a Plane often, and with great enthusiasm, on my blog. This has helped spread awareness of Snakes on a Plane throughout the blogosphere.

And finally, I’m such a Snakes on a Plane fan, that I never cop out and use the lame acronym “SoaP” I always say “Snakes on a Plane”, because I believe that every person should say this phrase as many times as they possibly can in their life!

So… please vote for me. Thank you.

Please vote for me! I’ve been following the Snakes on a Plane story around early last summer (first featured in Wired Magazine), and am completely obsessed with everything SOAP-related. I’ve helped provide updates for the SOAB page, and was the first to break the story of the new Cobra Starship song/album information/etc. I own an American Apparel Snakes shirt, have two of my own which I made myself, have a copy of the new SOAP movie poster in my room, and have just finished the book adaptation. I’m already stocking up on rubber snakes and toy airplanes for the showing. :) I am often heard randomly shouting Snakes On A Plane! EVERYWHERE, at least once a day! Your vote will count! Thank you!

Vote for me (snakesonstuff.com) because if I win I will name my first born “Snakes Ona”.

Currently I am number #2. I hope to reach #1. Please email me at snakesonstuff@gmail.com if you do vote for me so I know who to thank and who to invite and thank! I live in Seattle if that helps.

Here is the link to vote:

Also, feel free to check out or contribute to my site SnakesOnStuff. It’s about Snakes on everyday stuff…like cats, babies, pugs, pants…etc.

I gave up. The guy in the lead has over 17,000 (no, I am not kidding) votes–it helps if you run a very popular website like http://ytmnd.com/ and you have a button on it that says “vote for me”. Best I can hope for is that he choses me to be one of his 100 homies–he already posted the offer on his message (see the upper right)–since we both live in the NYC area, I may have a shot–maybe. :-(

I meant “upper left”–having a spastic moment–sorry. :-p

Whoever screamed “DCLUGI” at Comic-con gets my vote. Unless that was you Dad.

Comment by DCLugi — July 26, 2006 @ 2:40 pm

Let’s see. I named my curling team “Snakes On A Rink”. I did a project in class on the movie and got 90+%. People are talking to me every day about SOAP related news. I’m the only one I know of in the city that’s read the book, that talks about it every day, and I even have the SOAP logo on my cell phone to stare at every time I open it. I quote the book at people, and they stare at me funny. Whenever someone says “Sounds like a plan” I reply with “Snakes on a Plane.” People have now started to avoid me.

By the way, the screening would be in Cleveland or Eastern Pennsylvania/Philadelphia area, if you are interested. :)
It’d be neat just to have my name on the top ten- I recommend voting for everyone who posted. :)

I have a Snakes on a Plane T-Shirt which was worn during my fantrailer “SNAKES ON A JET PLANE” which is still on Youtube and on http://www.drownin-turkey.cjb.net.

I also have the Snakes on a Plane final poster hanging over my bedroom window as seen in this picture:
http://myspace-235.vo.llnwd.net/00947/53/24/947564235_l.jpg

THEN I have a Snakes on a Plane Support Our Ribbons magnet on the back of my Chevy Calvalier.

I was also interviewed by THE ROANOKE TIMES, the newspaper in my hometown (of Roanoke Virginia) about my fantrailer. The article is supposed to be published the day Snakes on a Plane comes out.

One final thing, I will be attending the Snakes on a Plane midnight showings if they have one at our local theater.

Those reasons alone make me the biggest Snakes on a Plane fan! AND HERE IS MY VOTING LINK!
