July 19th, 2006 at 11:51 pm

Ok, today a group of about ten bloggers including myself, SnakesOnStuff and others were invited to take an ealry look at the Snakes on a Plane booth at Comic-Con. We got in there a few hours before the hoards arrived, here are my pictures:

When you step inside the snake, you get to see a lot of knick-knacks from the film along with some new video clips and the occasional shed snakeskin.

For the rest of Comic-Con, they’ll have a DJ working at this DJ booth backed with this spraypainted brick “tag wall” that you’re welcome to/encouraged to scrawl upon:

They’re also selling a few pieces of merchandise including a Comic-Con shirt and this necklace that we heard about last week:

And nearby I spotted this ad for Samuel L. Jackson’s cartoon coming out in the fall:

On Friday I’ll be interviewing Samuel L. Jackson, David Ellis, Kenan Thompson and the film’s snake wrangler. It’s going to be a long day.

You lucky sonuvabitch! I just arrived in San Diego about an hour ago. I brought along a rubber snake, of course, and took pictures of myself and the snake in various poses (I also took some pictures of the guy in the seat in front of mine, with the snake sneaking up on him. He didn’t notice). But just as I was taking a picture of the snake eating my airline peanuts, a flight attendant came up to me all laughing and asked me if it was a snake. I thought he understood the joke when he asked to see the snake, but then he grabbed it and ran of. He didn’t come back for another five minutes, so I went back to reading Sin City, but he finally came back and gave me a bag with the snake in it, giggling. I’m still trying to figure out what the hell happened…..did he put it in a bag so as not to alert the other passagengers? And if not, WHAT THE HELL DID HE DO TO THE SNAKE, MAN? WHAT DID HE DO TO THE SNAKE??!!!

Is that snake going to eat / kill that baby?

Man, New Line really are pulling all the stops with the R rating!

1. Wonder what they’re gonna do with that wall after the con?

2. Is that con shirt really that crappy-looking? Or was it just the camera at the time? What are they asking for it?

Loved the booth yesterday. I didn’t get to sign the wall, but I’ll have pleny of time today and Saturday. I’m wondering if Sam will be singing autographs after the panel disscussion today, or whether I will have to stalk him to his fancy limo?

That must be the scene where the flight attendant dies in an effort to save someone. I’m betting that’s what it is.

They spared no expense with the “gruesome make-up” on this thing. Nifty.

I think they should use the snake at the Con as the entryway for the movie premiere. Run a red carpet through the middle of it.

Babies are fighting back.

Still the baby doesn’t have a chance!

Ommimotherfuggingawd, that was awesome!!! Best Comic-Con ever!!! “Sam, do you think that the snakes deserve to die?” “Yes, they deserve to die! And I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!!” I’m still pretty pissed though, ’cause I didn’t get to ask my question (and I was only about five people away in line). And Afro Samurai looks awesome, too! There’s nothing better than Samuel L. Jackson playing a character called “Ninja-Ninja”. I guess we now know that Sam does infact prefer ninjas over pirates…’cause he IS a ninja….

Oh yeah, and they showed ten minutes of the film! Looks AWESOME! The choas is hilarious, very amusing, just like they said on Aint It Cool News. Now, if you excuse me, I’m gonna go pass out.

RE: “Sam, do you think that the snakes deserve to die?” “Yes, they deserve to die! And I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!!”

OMG–I can’t believe someone asked that and he actually ANSWERED like that! This is by far the COOLEST person on the planet. How you were able to stand in his presence without passing out right there is beyond me.

I was all nervous in line for the questions, but it was so long that I finally pulled it together by the time I was near the front. To bad it ended before I could ask Sam a question. (I didn’t know waht to ask him, anyways.) One kid asked him if he was uncomfortable, and whether he wanted him and his freinds to make a “human-throne for your awesomeness”.
