Darn, my picture of a gorilla selling android children didn’t make it into the contest…at least a gorilla was successful!

That gorilla is creepy! You can see the human eyes too well–reminds me of that creepy movie poster for “The Shaggy Dog”–with the human eyes on the dog–too weird for me!

Ha, sorry, the android children thing didn’t make much sense from the picture alone, the just looked stiff. I didn’t want to split your votes by putting up more than one gorilla picture. Good luck.

I’ll post them all when the contest ends.

that makes sense, thank you! How’s the photoshopping of Sharon Stone’s nether regions going?

Comment by Matt Barr — June 14, 2006 @ 9:01 am

huh, I thought there’d be hundreds, if not thousands, of people taking photos like that gorilla person. Did only 4 people submit stuff?

Comment by Magog — June 14, 2006 @ 1:38 pm

I was gonna submit, but I couldn’t think of a clever enough setting to assure victory. :-(

Comment by Armitage112 — June 14, 2006 @ 1:54 pm

Sadly the submission rate was lower than I would have hoped. I guess this contest required too much effort for people.

Not all of us are able to get gear ya know

Comment by Snakes in Europe — June 14, 2006 @ 3:05 pm

haha, this is just pure brilliance!…its just so pathectic and lazy in the same way the movie is. I was hoping for a pic of someone JUST wearing a SoaP shirt running onto the opening game of the world cup.

Imagine it during the final of the world cup!!!!…that would just be amazing but ha, we’re too lazy…

Comment by capone — June 14, 2006 @ 4:24 pm

Actually just in the slight hope of this being made into a reality…please please please will somewhere run onto the field during the world cup final wearing a SoaP shirt. PLEASE. Can we raise a fund or something?

Comment by capone — June 14, 2006 @ 4:26 pm

I kinda like the first guy–in front of the house–not only is he holding a sign AND wearing a shirt, check out his face–it’s like he EMBODIES the sentiment “Snakes on a plane, whaddyagonnado? S*** happens”, especially in front of that busted house!

Comment by Armitage112 — June 14, 2006 @ 8:17 pm

man, it’s too bad I couldn’t locate any “willing” shriners. I had some great photograph ideas involving those guys.

Comment by Matt Barr — June 14, 2006 @ 8:41 pm

those are great! I was going to send in somthing… I think I ran out of time. oops. maybe the next contest

Comment by abby — June 14, 2006 @ 9:13 pm

Any suggestions for the next contest?

Comment by Snakes on a Blog — June 14, 2006 @ 9:22 pm

Wasn’t the original rule of the contest to wear a t-shirt that had snakes on a plane on it? The only people who stuck to the ORIGINAL rules are photos 2&4…they should get the most votes simply based on that. Plus, the whole “$#!+ happens” being the same as “SOAP happens” seems to be a direction this film should NOT be going in…a catch phrase like “$#!+ happens” was a good thing but became so cliche that it’s now lame. Do we want that to happen to SOAP?

Comment by seyahh — June 14, 2006 @ 11:40 pm

Picture 1 has a a real Snakes on a Plane shirt.

Comment by Snakes on a Blog — June 15, 2006 @ 12:04 am

Sorry, seyahh, but in defense of Picture #1, he IS wearing an official “Snakes on a Plane” shirt, like Brian said–click the link below to see where he probably got it:

http://amorphia-apparel.com/designs/snakesonaplane.html

Also, according to Wikipedia AND the Urban Dictionary (and several SoaP products on CafePress.com), “Snakes on a plane” is already being used in the manner I described, and I’m sure no one here had anything to do with it. ;-) Besides, one of the StickDeath gifs already used it in that context.

From Wikipedia:

The phrase “Snakes on a Plane” has been used on Internet forums to indicate that a given topic is nonsensical. With creative uses of capital letters, bold or italic text, and punctuation the title has been manipulated to reflect surprise, horror, or absurdity, among other things. The meme is often interspersed with images of Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Mace Windu and quoting lines from both the Star Wars series and Pulp Fiction (both starring or prominently featuring Jackson). The slang form “SoaP” is used in place of “S*** happens” or “Oh well, what’cha gonna do?”

Armitage112, sorry to creep you out but those are actually the eyes of the gorilla mask, but lets keep that between you and I….I want everyone else to think it’s a real gorilla.

Comment by Matt Barr — June 16, 2006 @ 12:55 am

I sure hope that isn’t Picture 1’s actual house :(

Comment by Snakes in Europe — June 16, 2006 @ 3:47 am

Matt–HOLY SoaP! Bet you get extra points on Halloween for wearing THAT thing! ;-)

Comment by Armitage112 — June 16, 2006 @ 9:22 am

Hey, I know that monkey! Matt, I think your cover was blown by the tennis shoes. :) I have been up close and person with this monkey and I can verify that it is, in fact, the creepiest costume ever!

P.S. Hey Matt, I’m blogging! :)
