Snakes on a Blog VII

Welcome to the monthly stats update, I know people go crazy for these… just crazy:

I’ve been online for 153 days. I’ve had over 600,000 visitors. I’ve posted 308 stories which received 2,332 comments (and 1,796 blocked spam comments). There have been 2,000,000 requests for pages, and a staggering 36,000,000 requests for all files (these are mostly people hotlinking to images, comics, and icons that I’ve hosted and posting them on other forums around the net). I’ve transferred 980 gigabytes of data. The most popular day of the week is Friday. The most popular hour of the day is between 1pm and 2pm EST.

I’ve gotten ten free t-shirts, one free hat, one free button and one free mug. A fan started petition requesting I be allowed to attend the premiere is over 1350 signatures. There are currently 51 translations of “Snakes on a Plane” into foreign languages. I’ve been interviewed by three TV crews. SnakesOnABlog.com has appeared in a large number of newspaper stories, by 898 blogs, and over 6,635 other webpages.

But my goal was not to build stats. My goal was not to get free t-shirts or high hit-counts. My goal was to attend the Hollywood premiere of Snakes on a Plane. If that doesn’t come to pass, then all the rest of this work was for nothing. Read my first, second and third pleas to hear more. My goals are looking pretty good at this point. David Ellis, the director, has said that I’d be coming to the premiere in several interviews… but the quest doesn’t end until I’m standing on the red carpet.

Previous stats updates: first, second, third and fourth.

Agreed–David R. Ellis, PLEASE take Brian with you to the premiere! And let him bring his girlfriend, Mother, and Monty Coles!!

Comment by Armitage112 — June 13, 2006 @ 10:15 pm

Brian couldn’t take Monty Coles cause he’d be like one of those grizzly old war veterans and refuse the offer:

“See the movie? Tsk, I lived it my boy.”

Brian if you’re not going to the SoaP premiere there isn’t going to BE a SoaP premiere… you seem to be in with the SoaP bigwigs. I wouldn’t worry. No one has generated more free publicity for this film, except maybe Josh Friedman, and you’ve put in way more hours lately.

David R Ellis —

Also how about a selection of 10 Snakes on a Blog readers to attend the premiere, too? Selected by a test of skill and merit.

Pepeeg–please define “skill and merit” as it pertains to SnakesOnAPlaniacs??

Brian; You are going to be there. New Line has said they will fly you out and put you up for the premier and party But if you are worried about SNAKES ON A PLANE, maybe a Train or Bus would be a better choice. I will buy your ticket and pay for your hotel, but I know New Line is happy to do it….

I feel like I’ve missed so much. BUT I AM BACK. While waiting at Orlando INTL today, I saw a kid with a bright green plush snake around his neck. I quietly asked the young boy if there were any snakes on his plane… he didn’t get it, maybe ’cause he was like… 7. and my mom called me to tell me she saw a poster in our local theatre… I might have to pose with it sometime. That is all. Keep on SOAPin’.

DAVID R. ELLIS–You ROCK! :-) (BTW–loved “Cellular” and “Homeward Bound 2″! Haven’t seen the others, but I will now!)

Snakes on a What?
Snakes on a Blog documents my quest to attend the Hollywood premiere of Snakes on a Plane. If I'm really lucky, this blog will do more than just document the quest, it will aid it. Read my first and second pleas.

If you want to learn more about Snakes on a Plane, start at the beginning of January and read up.
