UPDATE: Snakes on a Plane… In Real Life?
June 8th, 2006 at 12:02 am

A few days ago I posted links to a few news outlets running stories about a real snake on a plane incident. Since then, the media has (predictably) gotten really excited about the story and gotten in touch with the pilot, Monty Coles. NPR ran an interview with him, so did ABC News.

I checked with the people I can get in touch with at New Line and they swear up and down that they have nothing to do with this story. Anyway, here are some stills from the ABC piece (thanks Armitage112):

MSNBC also ran a story about him, but since you can’t link directly to a video story on MSNBC’s website, and because they have some restriction which doesn’t allow the video to play in Firefox, I’m not really interested in giving them more traffic. It’s Rita Cosby’s page if you’re really interested.

Hey Brian I have a new quote for you for the mainpage:

“He’s a cold hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Uh huh
He’s been telling lies”

Is it just me, or since the advent of “SoaP”, have there been a LOT more “snakes in the news”??? Snakes on planes, snakes getting married, snakes in cars (see links below)–the snakes are taking over, I tell ya!!

Holy crap! That was awesome!

That dude needs to be in the movie now. He needs to be the mysterious wise old guy who comes in after the halfway point. He could wear a dark cloke and stroke his chin, saying, “I know how to deal with snakes on a plane…I’ve faced them once before…You fools have no idea what you’re in for” - followed by a sinister laugh and a sepia-tone flashback sequence leading to a training montage with him and Samuel L. Jackson.

Hey Brian–if you DO get invited to the premiere (and at this point, you better!)–how about inviting Monty along? I’m sure he’d love it–and then hook him up with David R. Ellis for the sequel–tell him to add that scene “random dude” described–that was GREAT!

OH OH OH!!!…ELLIS…DO THIS DO THIS FOR THE SEQUAL…

Snakes in a school - 2008

Have Sam Jackson play a janitor in a school (he quit after the stress of his previous job). There is a new cool young hero wannabe trying to kill the snakes in a school that has been locked by terrorists. But to suceed he must use wise jackson’s advise, he could train him on how to kill the snakes. There could be a small child also who is trained in the art of snake killing and he could be the main hero in the sequal to this sequal.

Nah, those are all about the movie–I was thinking of just your basic average everyday non-Hollywood snake sitings. Oh, well, it was a thought. :-)

[...] We’ve had a few real Snakes on a Plane stories before, but here’s a new one. Well, it’s old, but it’s new to the Internet. Gary was kind enough to let me know about an incident he had back in South Africa: We really did have a snake on our plane! [...]
