Snakes on Early Auditions
March 27th, 2006 at 12:35 am

This is a great video called Early Auditions put together by DCLugi who previously worked with Subatomic Warp (check out the great audio trailer and the best fan song). It actually reminds me of a skit Saturday Night Live did about famous actors auditioning for Star Wars. Here you go:

hehe this was great.

I loved how Beaker was there. SoaP would be great with Beaker.
It could part buddy flick, Sam L. and Beaker. The greatest snake fighting team ever.

Comment by Jason C. — March 27, 2006 @ 12:44 am

Yeah, I didn’t want to ruin the beaker surprise by putting him in a screenshot. I laughed out loud when he showed up.

Comment by Snakes on a Blog — March 27, 2006 @ 12:50 am

That man does a great Christopher Walken impression.

Comment by Boots — March 27, 2006 @ 1:09 am

yeah but his Beaker was perfect. ;-)

Comment by Jason C. — March 27, 2006 @ 1:17 am

OK, I know we’ve got Walken, Pesci, Nicholson, and BEAKER~!, but who was the other guy supposed to be?

Comment by Gregg Allinson — March 27, 2006 @ 2:54 am

Damn, this Snakes stuff is just never-ending. Who’d have thought this movie would spark such a massive output of creativity?

Comment by Hustlertwo — March 27, 2006 @ 3:07 am

i’m quite sure the other guy was De Niro.

that was top quality stuff!

Right you are Kale.

Comment by DCLugi — March 27, 2006 @ 8:26 am

Ah that was great! Of course, I love the muppets so the Beaker throw in was unexpected and hilarious!

Comment by Steph B. — March 27, 2006 @ 11:41 am

Comment by Jetgirl — March 28, 2006 @ 3:06 pm

This is a great clip, this guy is amazing. Nicholson and Walken were right in.

Comment by Rafaelrsv — March 30, 2006 @ 9:37 am

That music was gay.

Comment by aghsdaads — March 30, 2006 @ 9:00 pm

It takes a good ear to recognise that music as gay. The only other folks who pointed that out were also gay. Very perceptive and thanks.

Comment by DCLugi — March 31, 2006 @ 11:40 am

Gay music only likes other gay music, it wants nothing to do with straight music.

Comment by Snakes on a Blog — March 31, 2006 @ 11:41 am

DCLugi doing Christopher Walken doing Shaft. Motherfuckin’ hilarious. I cried both of the first two times I watched it.

Obviously aghsdaads has never seen any of those audition outtake shows. The music was dead on. The only thing more dead on was the Nicholson impersonation.

Comment by Jen — April 5, 2006 @ 7:25 pm

[...] Have I mentiond that DC Lugi is my god? Well, he is. He’s collaborated with Subatomic Warp on my favorite fan song, and he made the great early audition video. With all due respect, EVERYBODY does a Nicholson impression.
The Walken, however, was dead on. Voice and emoting.
The DeNiro, not so much.
But you put yourself out there, man…and the audio trailer still makes me raff…uh, laugh.

Comment by Theo — April 8, 2006 @ 8:04 am

Just saw a clip of this on the news (no joke - way to go!) and had to run right over to this site to check the full bit out. WELL DONE MY MAN. Seriously heee-sterical shite. I’m sharing my bellylaughs with friends as well. Keep at it, beotch! You rule!

And are you calling me a ’slut’ or are you calling DCLugi a ’slut’?

It’s helpful to be clear about this sort of thing.

Comment by Barista Bob — April 21, 2006 @ 9:10 am

They must certainly cast Riki Tiki Tavi as the hero who kills all the snakes on the plane, and saves everyone.

“If you move, I will strike…If you do not move, I will strike”

Comment by c l i n t f o x w o r t h — April 21, 2006 @ 9:39 am

DCLugi is awesome……..why have I not seen him before?
His impersonassions were dead on - both voice & facial expressions. Without a doubt you knew it was Walkins, Pesci, Nickolas & DeNero.

Comment by kcabrera — April 21, 2006 @ 10:38 am

That was well worth the download. Oh man, that was truly entertaining, tastefully edited, and clever as hell! Kudos, DC… kudos!

That Riki Tiki Tavi comment was funny as hell, too… brought back some great memories growing up :)

Comment by ZooS — April 21, 2006 @ 11:03 am

Wow… that was one of the funniest vids I have seen in a long time…the Walken was outstanding, the Nicholson was very good, the Pesci was very good…although honestly, I had trouble recognizing the DeNiro…had to get it from the words rather than the voice.

DC should be on somewhere…doing something…he is funnier than most people on TV right now!

Outstanding work…and Beaker was inspired!!

Comment by Marlenesguy — April 21, 2006 @ 12:16 pm

In all the hype about Snakes on a Plane, no one mentions the fact that there was a Saturday Night Live skit (I think with John Goodman) about cobras terrorizing passengers on a plane. It seems the writer of that sketch should get credit for the movie idea. Does anyone else remember the skit?

Comment by DavidF — April 21, 2006 @ 12:50 pm

Absolutely wonderful! I’m a Christopher Walken fan, so I agree that the impersonation was right on. I was wandering about on the internet and stumbled on a news release about this site. I couldn’t believe there would be a movie entertaining a plot such as this, thank God someone had the good sense to make a site to completely shoot it down prior to it’s release. Great work DCLugi, I hope to see you else where soon and Snakes on a Blog, I hope your quest will be fufilled soon. Ya’ll are the best Cheap French Whores around and I commend you!

Comment by Matt — April 21, 2006 @ 2:11 pm

Hysterical! I loved the impersonations…Walken was dead on and the Nicholson getting bit…what can I say! I loved it! I certainly hope you make it to Hollywood….(but be careful…there might be snakes on your plane!)

Comment by Lisa — April 22, 2006 @ 10:23 am

Thanks for all the feedback guy and gals. I just booked a job doing Walkens voice on the website for “Click” with Adam Sandler and Walken. Apparently Chris wasn’t available so they got the next best (cheaper) choice.

Comment by darwin — April 25, 2006 @ 2:56 am

I have to add that Kevin Pollack’s impersonation of Walken and Nicholson were both the best until DClugi’s Walken took the top spot. Friggin unreal!!

The Walken & Nicholson have set a new standard–

It’s not only the voice–

I just heard about this movie and this website tonight on Dateline’s “The Mank Blog.” I decided to check the Celebrity Auditions and figured it was just going to be bad impressions.
HOWEVER, this was one of the funniest bits I have seen in a very long time. I am sitting here at my desk, 3:47am and just howling with laughter….tears are running down my face. I hope my neighbours don’t think I am going crazy!! The impressions are right on the mark and the dialogue is hilarious. I hope we will be seeing you soon on TV!

Comment by Sharon Dunn — June 26, 2006 @ 2:50 am

The celebrity auditions were also great. My only complaint is that the wrong competitor got shot!

Comment by sanguine — June 29, 2006 @ 5:53 pm

I remember a Movie For Television starring David Janssen entitled “Fer-De-Lance” about snakes on a submarine; another MOW about spiders on a plane. Not exactly a reach to put computer generated snakes on a plane…

The REAL discovery is DC LUGI! Tried repeated viewings but couldn’t get his DeNiro, but his Pesci, Walken and Nicholson were SO perfect and SO hilarious. His mimicry of their facial and physical mannerisms was uncanny and, indeed, reminds one of Jim Carrey’s early days.

To hell with “Snakes on a Plane”, I want DC Lugi on Letterman! Where can we see him?

Nice. I checked out some of your other stuff on YouTube, some really good stuff there. Especially the “Tell Sam Jackson he’s my bro”… At first i thought you may have just switched out words of the original recording.. but then i realized thats actually you singing, very good man.
And then the reaction clips to that video… slingblade and hank hill et all.. nice
Keep it up, you’ll have your own show at this rate.

I’d like to see more music spoofs, something tells me you could do a good david bowie or elvis. Maybe even spoof the Cobra Starship video, playing all the parts.. That would be hilarious.

Comment by Drew — July 18, 2006 @ 2:42 pm

D.C., you’re the one for me!!!!!!! If your single, I’m available! I love your Christopher Walken. I was laughing so hard, my dad came into the room and thought something was wrong, ’cause I was rolling on the bed! My family doesn’t get it and my co-workers are threatning to file harassment charges if I don’t stop talking about the movie, but who cares!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I love your “Tell Sam he’s my bro!” Have you heard from Bono? What does he think ?

WOW!!

I don’t think even you realise how hilarious you are, Mr Luigi! l live in Ghana, and when my sister came home on holiday last week, she brought a copy of Empire Magazine with her from London. i read about SoaP and looked it up on the net. couldn’t believe any movie studio (esp New Line) could create such a crowd-pleaser. but i have to say, in Ghana the concept of snakes on a plane isn’t as frightening as it is to you phobia-laden westerners. my friends and i were more surprised to find that snakes had an easier job getting visas to enter the US than Africans… Anyway, just wanted to say your impressions are the funniest i have EVER seen!!! EVER! everyone in my Uni now knows about DC muthafuckin Luigi and Motherfuckin Snakes on a Motherfuckin Plane. Can’t wait to see it on DVD (no cinematic releases in Ghana, i’m afraid…). OK, I got it Dave. “Bear Witch Project.” I think it Was IFC in L.A. and Not the web where I saw it. Since I don’t have IFC here on cable in baltimore, I forgot about that station. I have searched on the web for your flik, but to no avail. There are posts on boards at IFC about BearWP, but no posts of the video anywhere. Interestingly, the “muppet” BWP calls itself “bear wit project”. Werner Herzog actually dubbed his documentery about the bear guy Treadwell “the bear witch project”, so if you ever run into him at a festival you may gleefully mention to him that you had the name first. Anyway, i am jonesing to see your BWP again. where o where or how can i see it?
