Snakes on a Blog III
February 12th, 2006 at 1:40 am

It’s about time for another recap of how this blog is doing so far.

I’ve been online for 30 days. I’ve had about 10,000 visitors. I’ve posted 52 stories. There have been 45,000 requests for pages, and a staggering 650,000 requests for other files (these are mostly people hotlinking to images and comics that I’ve hosted and posting them on other forums around the net). I’ve transferred 13 gigabytes of data. The most popular day of the week is Friday. The most popular hour of the day is between 10pm and 11pm. I’ve gotten two free t-shirts.

And yet, as a freind pointed out yesterday:

your blog has pretty much degenerated into free advertising for free advertising for a movie called Snakes on A Plane. remember when you were going to blog your progress in getting tickets to the premiere?”

I haven’t forgotten, but I admit that it’s easy to get bogged down. I even set up a category for news about the premiere itself, but alas, I haven’t yet had the opportunity to use it. All I can say, so far, is that I’ve had a couple of interesting nibbles. I’ve had a few conversations with a few interesting people, and I’m definitely moving in the right direction. As soon as I can say more, I will. At the moment, though, nothing is written in stone and I still need your help!

Read my first plea. Read my second plea. Think about everyone you know in Hollywood, and pass this webpage to them. Let them know that there’s one person out there who has dreams so small that they can be achieved by the receipt of a few paltry tickets to a single Hollywood premiere.

So, uh, how does one go about getting free fan-art t-shirts? I totally need one of those to wear to the premiere, which I am pretty sure The Diva is going to hook me up with!

The Diva, as in the guy at SameulLJackson.com? Seems like a nice enough guy. Hopefully if you get a ticket, I’ll see you in Hollywood.

There’s a trick to getting free shirts, you need to be something of a sell-out shill. It’s not a bad thing to be.

[...] My dad chastised me last night for not posting my monthly recap.  I had forgotten about it.  Whoops.  My first one was three months ago, the second one was two months ago and the third one was last month. [...]

[...] But my goal was not to build stats. My goal was not to get free t-shirts or high hit-counts. My goal was to attend the Hollywood premiere of Snakes on a Plane. If that doesn’t come to pass, then all the rest of this work was for nothing. Read my first, second and third pleas to hear more. My goals are looking pretty good at this point. David Ellis, the director, has said that I’d be coming to the premiere in several interviews… but the quest doesn’t end until I’m standing on the red carpet. [...]

Hey,
I think I have (sort of) good news for you…..my daughter is the producer of SOAP and my ex-husband is the director ( David) - my sister in law is the co Stunt Coordinator, my other daughter a stunt girl - etc.. etc…..as I understood it…you were coming to the premier but as I review this site it doesn’t seem as though it has been confirmed very well with you.
The tickets are not printed yet….so they wouldn’t be sending you anything at this point…why do you think you are not coming???
It says you are coming out here that weekend correct?
I believe you have started a whole new method of film making and marketing….so feel you deserve to come to the premier….as does my daughter and crew…
A HUGE snag came into their schedule unexpectedly and they are all of a sudden EXTREEEEMLY BUSY…..

**they have Snakes coming out August 18……the “producer daughter” Tawny Ellis is getting married ( she is 24) and having a Slam-banging-huge-ass-Rockin’ wedding a million people are invited to> August 12……at her fathers ( Davids) house in Malibu…. and they leave to South Carolina on their next film for 3 months (The Asylum !) on July 24….
so needless to say they are overlapped with major buzyiness, and crossed schedules……..
promise me you won’t post this…..
until I can find out what I can……I’m going to be so bold to say I am POSITIVE that you are invited to this….as before I ever read this…Tawny and I talked about it….
At this type of premier…you have to realize they don’t really have “tickets”….its not that type of thing….( I was a stuntwoman alongside David for 15 years - we all started in stunts).
I’m guessing here - but>
Probably about 1 week…mmmmmmaybeee 2 weeks before the 18th tickets will be printed and handed out.
I can try emailing my ex …but my daughter and I are close
so I will ask for you
you found someone - you deserve to go….
Tawny is really aLOT of the style of the movie….she has this incredible wit….and I think it shows in everything she does… She is very involved in the editing, directing and every aspect of Davids movies…. Yes, DAvid is very very talented - always has been, a dynamite artist and a very funny man ( oh and don’t forget smart ass)….but the help of our daughter is one of the keys to the successes of their last 3 movies ( She has this unbelievable EYE, and taste that is just sooooo natural to her oh and humor and smart ass > just like Pop….
ALL part of the catapult
Have you seen Final Destination 2 ?
Rent it……
THAT is them in their prime!
Personally I cannot stand horror movies…..they scare the crap out of me…so that is where I am coming from

let me know if I am missing anything

Snakes on a What?
Snakes on a Blog documents my quest to attend the Hollywood premiere of Snakes on a Plane. If I'm really lucky, this blog will do more than just document the quest, it will aid it. Read my first and second pleas.

If you want to learn more about Snakes on a Plane, start at the beginning of January and read up.
